Emily McLaughlin
(she/her)
Emily strives to empower her students through the practice of yoga. With an emphasis on alignment, she leads her classes through strong vinyasa sequences. Through a strong physical practice, she believes students will walk away from their mat empowered to take on the challenges that life presents.
Emily studied ballet from a young age and performed professionally for many years. She received a BFA in Ballet Performance from the University of Utah and performed with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater and Ballet Austin. In her last few years of performing, she began a consistent yoga practice and the transformation began. The physical practice of yoga opened the door to possibilities emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Empowered to continue her journey and share it with others, she completed her 200- hour certification with Lex Gillian at The Yoga Institute in 2012. After dipping her toes into the world of teaching, Emily sought for a deeper understanding. The summer of 2014, she was introduced to Austin yogi Gioconda Parker and completed another 200 hours of study. She was inspired to continue her yoga education and enrolled in a 300-hour training with both Gioconda and Christina Sell.
