Join us at the Retreat for a MAGICAL evening to celebrate the rising of November’s Full Beaver Moon!
All are invited to join Jessica and Amy on Wednesday, November 13th, to celebrate and prepare for the rising of November’s Full SUPERMOON which will makes it’s debut in the night sky on November 15th. We’ll honor the full moon in Gemini (the last full moon before the Winter solstice) with relaxation, gentle yoga, and sound to prepare us to receive it’s grounding energy.
Each month’s full moon was named by ingenious peoples to represent the happenings of the natural world around them. The Full Moons would guide them throughout the year as they prepared for seasonal changes in the environment… like upcoming weather conditions, changes in food supply, etc. The November Full Moon, called the Beaver Moon symbolized a time when Beavers would begin to settle into their lodges which they spent the summer and early-Fall building. This is also the time when they would start building dams and setting traps to ensure safe shelter for the coming cold season. While the September Harvest Moon and October Hunter’s Moon were reminders to harvest crops and hunt for protein for Winter, the Beaver Moon had more to do with preparing the home for Winter.
In November, the days become shorter and we all start to spend more time indoors. We may begin the process of cleaning out our closets, donating items we no longer need, and wrapping up projects that have been lingering. This is also a time when we go inward to our spiritual selves, to slow down, and to focus on ourselves and our highest intentions for the next season. We must also keep in mind that the busy beavers work TOGETHER to build their shelters as they get ready to hunker down as a COMMUNITY for Winter. This is a reminder to us all that even though the temperatures drop and the hours of darkness outweigh sunlight, being with community brings comfort and light even on the darkest, coldest days.
During our Full Moon Yoga + Sound Bath, Jessica & Amy will lead us through a relaxing yoga practice as we prepare our bodies to receive the vibrations of sound from various instruments - including a beating drum, singing bowls and the gong. You will leave feeling relaxed, renewed and nourished…and ready to receive and appreciate the energy of the Beaver Moon.
